Biography

Eduardo Flores was born in Posillipo - Napoli in 1932; living in Brazil since 1972.

Pupil of Carlo Carrà; formed in Visual Arts in Milano (Italy) in 1960. His paintings are owned by private and official collections in Italy, France and Brazil; acknowledgments, including gold and silver medals, have been received in collective and individual expositions.

Member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Belas Artes, registration Nº 11239; since 1992 his name is present in ARTES PLÁSTICAS BRASIL, the official catalogue of the Brazilian market of Arts; Professor of oil painting in the School of Arts of the Federal University.

The motivation of his art is the energy that supports reality: the perpetual generating power of land, water, light, woman; the power that is above the objective reality. His style is defined Symbolic Meta-Realism, because it is founded on the objective world, but at the same time it looks for a synthesis extracting the essential, archetypal beauty. It uses the common experience aiming at the symbol, the ideal, the archetype of a superior essence.

Eduardo Flores creates a surreal climate: he constructs his canvas with the drawing, the color and the light: he transcends the reality by the magic of painting.
